Our family has been vacationing on Amelia since the 60s, and we have certain restaurants we are very loyal to, this one has definitely been added to that list. Very delicious, fresh seafood. I was skeptical at first because I knew this was a chain, but I was wrong, very good food (the clams especially), just as good as any local seafood dive.

My husband and I went on all you can eat shrimp night. Food was excellent. We had more than enough to eat. Shrimp was lightly fried, not greasy or oily. I had the tomatoes and okra and mashed sweet potatoes as sidedishes. Delicious. Service was kind of slow, as I attribute this to a rush of customers for all you can eat. Servers were still pleasant and smiling, although they looked quite overworked. Atmosphere is not all that great, inside kind of dumpy, but the food was worth it.

Go to the DQ next door for a better meal in a cleaner environment! We ate around 8:45 on a Sunday night and the place was a disaster-- most of the tables unbussed, junk all over the floors... Plenty of servers around who could have cleaned up the place while we were there but never did. Food took 30+ min to come out (they were not busy) and was pretty nasty. My kids chicken strips were fried to one shade short of black (if you can't even fry chicken strips....) Trust all the bad reviews for this place and don't eat here.

We ordered ours to go. Huge amount of fried shrimp which were the best we had while visiting. I couldn't finish my plate. Mashed sweet potatoes were excellent. Ordered chicken finger plate and it was gigantic, clam chowder was decent but nothing to go back for. Inside looked old and worn down but the food was good and very reasonably priced for the area.

I had the 10 ounce NY Strip steak with fried shrimp, baked potato and green beans. It was great. I enjoyed it immensely. The steak was medium well and tender. The shrimp was fried and a little small but good. The green beans were seasoned with a ham hock and they were tasty. I got plenty of food for the money and service was excellent. I will eat there again.

I went to Cedar River today out of curiosity, Ive seen reviews that were very favorable to very bad depending on the year. For me the place was very good. If you're looking for a fine dining atmosphere then you're in the wrong spot. But if you're looking for good fried seafood then this is the place to go. The lunch specials were very reasonable and the amount of food was plentiful. I had the fish, shrimp and sea scallops and they were season and cooked perfect. As was my wife's shrimp. The coleslaw and okra & tomatoes were great. The price you couldn't beat as well. Under 20 dollars. My only complaint is that the staff looks to be over worked and short. Those waitress looked like an Olympic track team running around trying to accommodate the customers. Other than that it was a good experience and we plan to visit again real soon.

Ate here about 5 years ago with my wife. The service and food was so bad that I'm surprised to find that the place is still open.

Filthy dirty place with terrible food. Went today, have not eaten here in about three years, it was very good then. Now, not so much. Wish I had checked yelp prior to going. Today I ordered Mahi-Mahi broiled with lima beans and a baked potato. The fish was so dry, and not from the broiler, from the freezer I think. The potato was undercooked and the waitress apparently deaf as our complaints were ignored. My dinner companion also said the stuffed salmon was dry, hard to do that to an oily fish. I brought my fish home, not to savor later but, in case I got sick I wanted a piece for the lab... The absolute worst meal I have been served in a restaurant in 15 years.

Our family stopped in for lunch on vacation. The place doesn't look like much on the outside and the interior is pretty plain, but the food was great. You get huge portions and the prices were very reasonable. I gave it 4 stars because of the decor and no liquor service.

We always stop for lunch here on vacation. The food is decent for the lunch price ( about 8$ for a fried basket), but expensive for dinner ( about 20$ for the same food). The shrimp is frozen shrimp from North Carolina, which is disspointing knowing that fresh is readily available. The service is unsatisfactory. There is no host, so we stood at the door waiting to be sat for a few minutes, were appoached by three different waitresses to take our order ( they obviously were confused about who had which tables), waited to get our check, then waited again at the cash register. I'd suggest this place only for lunch!

We are visiting Amelia Island and had lunch here today. The place looks sketchy from outside and we thought about going somewhere else but I'm happy we didn't. Our server was very friendly and gave us excellent service. Our meals came quickly and the portions were rather large. Four of us had seafood and we all enjoyed our meals a lot. My wife had scallops and they were sweet and perfectly cooked. Two of us had the all you can eat perch special and the fish was moist flavorful. You can have any fish grilled, fried or blackened. The atmosphere wasn't too good, rather tired thus the 4 star review otherwise it was inexpensive and a great value. We would certainly come here regularly if we lived close. It would have been nice to be able to get a beer or glass of wine.

The food here is terrible. I have eaten there three times since it is right around the corner from the condo we vacation at and each time have been hopeful it will be better than the last time. Each time I am just completely disappointed. It makes no sense to not serve fresh seafood when you are located that close to the ocean. Spend your money elsewhere!

I have rarely had such bad service. The salad was puny & when I asked for more greens I was given an Attitude. When I asked for the manager I was given more attitude. I attempted to call the owner & never got my calls returned.

Soo, I come here almost every time I'm at home for a short visit. It is cheap and okay for seafood. Local fresh caught seafood is very expensive and hard to come by. This is not locally caught seafood-- with that said, I've been here more times than I can count, i've never been turned off by the food and i've never been disatissifed with the food or service. I recommend going for lunch, the prices are cheaper.

Decidedly mediocre. The fried entrees where pretty good but fried food is always at least pretty good. Blackened fish and scallops where terrible.

This place is gross. My friends said the seafood was good, which was the only positive part of the meal. I had chicken that was disgusting. It had a weird gross texture. The sweet potatoes were full of sugar and the lima beans were full of bacon. Don't go there expecting anything healthy.

Gross. One time I ordered the whole catfish and the waitress brought me a basket of fried minnows- No Joke. When I said something she replied, "yea...people been complaining they are kinda small". If you are looking for fresh local seafood this is NOT the spot. If you need some bait on the other hand-

Placed a take out order for crab legs. The order was ready in the time promised, however, they did not include the clarified butter for dipping. The crab legs were extremely salty and over cooked. Some of the worst crab legs I've ever eaten.

I love this place. The fried shrimp are lightly battered, crisp on the outside and tender inside, and I think their lima beans are so good I recently ordered a side to go. They fry their food in rice bran oil (which they offer for sale), supposedly a healthier alternative to other trans-fat-free oils like canola. Everything tastes clean and fresh, and the people are friendly and easygoing.
